We don't know why such labour intensive procedures were required - perhaps there was a fault with the signalling system. The blue chair on the top picture looks temporary but on the other hand the hut on the left of the bottom picture looked permanent and reminded me of Romania in 1982. http://tramways-romania1982.blogspot.com/2007/01/points.html
