Extravaganza - trams

Six trams were in service.

1. Southampton 45 and Blackpool 40.

2. Chesterfield 7 and MET 331.

3. Blackpool rack 2.
4. Paisley 68.

Extravaganza

I went to the Extrav on Sunday. The morning was fine but it started to rain at about 15:30.
1. Former NCT Leyland National sales stand.

2. Cardiff 131 made a couple of appearances for photographers.

3. A model tramway in the Exhibition Hall.

4. Tractors.

The workshop

1. LUT 159's trolley mast which Ian Ross told me was made in 1995 together with one for Birkenhead.
2. 159's dash panels have been re-fitted.

MET 331 and Leeds 180

1 &2. MET 331 was in the workshop for routine servicing including attention to the trolley heads.


3 & 4. Whilst I was swanning round the Isle of Man last weekend, 180's motors were refitted.

Fourty years on

Two of these pictures were taken on Saturday and two in Sept 1967.

Red Wheel (2)

The following trams were displayed on the depot fan: Cardiff 131, Glasgow 812, Sheffield 74, London Transport 1622, Liverpool 869 and the steam tram.
1. Mike Crabtree briefly described each of the trams on display on the depot fan.

2 & 3. Berlin 3006's wheelchair lift was demonstrated to Sir William.


4. The steam tram engine has returned from Manchester.

Red Wheel

Today Sir William McAlpine unvieled a Transport Trust Red Wheel plaque at the Museum. Details of the Red Wheel scheme can be found at http://www.transportheritage.com/
